Social Security Death Index - An invaluable resource for locating deceased ancestors.

Search Ellis Island - Ellis Island web site where you can search for passenger list holdings.

Castle Garden - This site has indexes of selected passenger lists for the years 1820 to 1913.

Bureau of Land Management - This site has records of the original transfer of government land to private ownership. If your ancestors homesteaded or were given a land grant this is the site for you.
